The Pug is one of the oldest breeds of dogs and has flourished since before 400 BC. Most researchers agree that the breed comes from Asia, due to its similarities to the Pekingese. China is the earliest known source for Pugs, where they were pets of the Buddhist monasteries in Tibet. The breed next appeared in Japan and Europe, becoming popular when Prince William II became the King of England. He owned Pugs and they became the fashionable breed for generations. Just wanted to let you know that the tags I got are great. I have had them for about 3 months and today my yorkie got out of the yard. I was frantically looking for him driving around in the car calling his name when a phone call came in. Thanks to his dog tag art tag someone found him and he was returned home in about 20 minites from the time he left my sight. Not only are they beautifully crafted they work. Thank you so much. -Michele Cox
